PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for repairing an automobile body, etc., having short drying time while exhibiting an optimal curing state and a resin material for putty used for the repairing material. SOLUTION: The resin material for putty comprises an unsaturated polyester resin for rust-preventive steels, a low shrinking agent and a filler. The unsaturated polyester resin for rust-preventive steels is produced by using a polybasic acid component and a polyhydric alcohol component, and at least either one of dicyclopentadiene and its derivative and/or at least either one of bisphenol A and its derivative is used as the polyhydric alcohol component.
