PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic measurement type joint angle meter capable of measuring a joint angle by non-fixing a foreign matter to an exercise part of a user and preventing the user from feeling discomfort. SOLUTION: A receiving antenna 7 is disposed oppositely to a transmission antenna 6 transmitting a single-frequency electromagnetic wave in 3-100 MHz generated in an AC signal generating section 5 and the intensity of the receiving signal received by the receiving antenna 7 is detected by a receiving signal intensity detecting section 8. A joint angle computing section 11 computes the joint angle corresponding to the receiving signal intensity detected by the receiving signal intensity detecting section 8 based on the prestored received signal intensity and characteristic data of the joint angle. A set of the transmission antenna 6 and the receiving antenna 7 are disposed on the side of the upper thigh 3, and measures the rotation angle in the bending joint 2 of the lower thigh 4 in an object detection range 10 of the receiving antenna 7. This joint angle meter is used for measuring the joint angle of the human body in a rehabilitation, a virtual reality and a man-machine interface. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
