<p>An endoscope system in which a treatment device is electrically inserted and withdrawn, where, in the system, rotation of the treatment device is facilitated. The endoscope system has an insertion section drive means (35) for driving a treatment device insertion section (21) of the treatment device. The insertion section drive means (35) is rotatably supported by a direction change means (50). The insertion section drive means (35) has oppositely arranged two rollers (33, 34), and the treatment device insertion section (21) is held between the rollers (33, 34). When the rollers (33, 34) are oriented in an insertion/withdrawal direction, the treatment device insertion section (21) is inserted and withdrawn by rotation of the rollers (33, 34). When the orientation change means (50) is operated to cause the rollers (33, 34) to be orthogonal to the insertion/withdrawal direction, the treatment device insertion section (21) is rotated about its axis by the rotation of the rollers (33, 34).</p> |
