The rack includes a long horizontal beam (5) with a seat (11, 12) at either end for supporting the boat (3a, 3b). One end of the beam is pivotally connected to a swing arm (6) which can be swung in a horizontal plane and also pivotally connected to one of the rack stands (2b). The other end of the beam is slidably mounted in a guide (9) which is rotatably connected to the other rack stand so that the beam with the boat resting on top of it can be moved from a storage position to a removal position or vice versa by rotating the swing arm so that the beam slides through the guide. The rack comprises two or more spaced apart stands.
