The invention relates to the use of phosphorylated and/or non-phosphorylated membrane associated progesterone receptor component 1 (mPR), in particular of at least one isoform thereof, as diagnostic marker and/or therapeutic target for diseases associated with aberrant biological phenotypes, reagents for influencing mPR and an appropriate assay.
