Cylindrical capacitor with variable capacity and a dielectric extension of the inner electrode for NMR applications

The capacitor has a cylindrically shaped tube (3) made of dielectric material e.g. Teflon(RTM: polytetrafluoroethylen). An external electrode (1) surrounds the tube and an internal electrode is axially moved in an internal borehole of the tube and fitted in the borehole. The inner electrode includes a metallic rod (2) with an end provided in the borehole of the tube. The metallic rod is extended at its end in the borehole, by a rod (9) made of dielectric material such as Teflon(RTM: polytetrafluoroethylen), in an axial direction. An independent claim is also included for a nuclear magnetic resonance probe head with a high frequency resonator.
