A mobile communication terminal having a function for selecting and outputting a slide MM and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to selectively output a slide by outputting summarized information by slides during the reproduction of the MMs, thereby easily checking messages by slides. A mobile communication terminal(100) having a function for selecting and outputting a slide MM(Multimedia Message) comprises the followings: an MMS(Multimedia Message Service) control unit(111) which generates and outputs summarized information on classified slides of slide MMS received to the mobile communication terminal(100) and outputs a slide screen corresponding to the summarized information to a display unit(113) if a user selection command for the outputted summarized information is inputted; the display unit(113); and a key input unit(112).
