A magnetron is provided to reduce heating power of a cathode by reducing an effective heating length of a cathode. An anode has a cylindrical shape. A plurality of veins(125) are arranged inside the anode. An upper magnetic pole(135) and a lower magnetic pole(145) are arranged at an upper side and a lower side of the anode. A spiral cathode(171) is disposed at a center of the anode. A center lead(161) penetrates the inside of the spiral cathode. A lower end shield(157) is connected with a lower end of the cathode. An upper end shield includes a shielding part(176) and a coupling part(177). The shielding part is disposed at an upper end of the cathode. The center lead is inserted into the upper end shield. The coupling part is inserted into the inside of the cathode. A high frequency generator is inserted between an input unit and an output unit in order to generate a high frequency.
