A sub display device in a mobile communication terminal and a method for controlling the same are provided to implement various contents intended by a terminal user, thereby maximizing the data expression capability of a sub LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and efficiently using a space of the sub LCD. A sub display device for use in a mobile communication terminal for processing a radio call comprises a sub display(2) for simultaneously running applications set by a terminal user on a plurality of division spaces, a display controller(4) for updating each image to display a plurality of display data on multiple division images of the sub display(2), and a main controller(6) for individually running a plurality of different applications including a BREW(Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless) application and a Native UI(User Interface) image on the division images of the sub display(2) and updating the applications.
