<p>A shaped article with a plastics support and an exterior decorative textile layer, produced by back-spraying, back-foaming or back-pressing a section of double-sided stitched material (4) (specifically knitted fabric), has threads or filaments on the back (5) of the section at least locally embedded in the plastics of the support, to bond the support to the stitched section. Independent claims are included for: (1) the production of the shaped article, by placing a section of double-sided stitched material in a mold cavity and applying an appropriate amount of a flowable, hardenable plastics composition, which permanently and at least locally bonds fibers on the surface of the section; and (2) the use of a double-sided stitched material (4) in the production of a shaped article as above, with a plastics support and an exterior decorative textile layer, by a back-spraying, back-foaming or back-pressing procedure.</p> |
