PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To interrupt text read-aloud operation, to set a repeat place, and to restart the read-aloud operation according to variation in driving load on a vehicle driver. SOLUTION: The driving operation of the driver and on-vehicle equipment operation are detected to decide a driving load state and when a heavy driving load state is generated, the position of a text in speech synthesis is stored; when operation for carrying out the text speech synthesis again is done, the text position which is stored is retrieved to read the text aloud. Consequently, the text position being read aloud when the driving load becomes heavy as the driver derives and operates on-vehicle equipment and it becomes difficult to pay sufficient attention to the read-aloud text is securely stored; even when the text is continuously read aloud as it is, the text can be read aloud again from the desired hearing position when the driver is released from the heavy driving load state and becomes able to hear the text. |
