A prestressed gabion lattice block using a steel rod and a construction method thereof are provided to firmly construct the lattice blocks in a slope, and to actively drain water by prestressing a box type frame with the steel rod, combining a reinforcing member with the frame and charging aggregate. A prestressed gabion lattice block(100) includes plural frames(10) having four horizontal bars arranged at corners and connecting bars connecting and fixing the horizontal bars in the ground, a connecting pipe(30) connecting and arranging the frames with the lattice structure and coupling ends of the horizontal bars, a steel rod applying prestress to a plate coupled to the connecting bar of the frame to prestress the frames combined by the connecting pipes, and a reinforcing member(50) installed to the horizontal bar to charge aggregate(60) on the frames arranged with the lattice structure. A thread is formed in an outer periphery of the steel rod, and connected to a nut by applying the prestress to the plate. Four connection holes are formed in the plate to connect the steel rod bi-directionally. |
