A storage control apparatus (101) according to the present invention includes a plurality of connecting units (105) connected to one or more host computers (102) and one or more hard disk drives (110) as storage media for storing data, one or more non-volatile storage media (306) which are of a different type from the hard disk drives (110) and which store data WRITE requested from the host computer (102), a plurality of processing units (220) for processing WRITE and READ requests from the host computer (102) by using the hard disk drives (110) or the non-volatile storage media (306) and, a plurality of memory units (113) for storing control information to be used by the processing units (220).
