FIELD: furniture industry, in particular, manufacture of transformable pieces of upholstered furniture. ^ SUBSTANCE: sofa-bed has carcass comprising sides rigidly connected to rear wall, hollow box, movable seat designed for advancement in forward direction, back pivotally connected to box, head rest, and transformation mechanism fixed to back and including two pairs of pivotally connected levers. Head rest is pivotally connected by means of pivot joint to rear wall, is positioned behind back and joined thereto through transformation mechanism by means of strips provided at lever ends of transformation mechanism. Free ends of levers are interconnected through pivot joint. Back is connected with box on upper surface of its rear wall so that back may be located on box upper surface on transformation of construction to "bed" position. Each side surface of seat is equipped with member enabling engagement with respective side surface of box on transformation of construction to "bed" position. Seat is moved by means of carrier wheels, with front pairs of box wheels and seat wheels are contacting with floor while rear pair is contacting with upper surface of box sides. Rear pair of box wheels is contacting with horizontal guides fixed on internal surfaces of sides of construction. Seat may be manually moved forward on transformation of construction to "bed" position and backward on transformation of construction to "sofa" position. In latter position, seat occupies the place of back on box, said back being preliminarily lifted in vertical plane, while head rest occupies vertical position under lower edge of rear wall. ^ EFFECT: enhanced reliability in operation, simplified transformation process and maximally useful utilization of construction members. ^ 4 cl, 3 dwg |
