A pattern generator for a car is provided to shape a specific picture necessary for a test into a picture of a BMP(Bit Map Protocol) file format and store the shaped specific picture in a flash memory. A power supply unit(110) receives battery power supply for a car and transforms the battery power supply into power supply for a circuit and then applies it to each element of the circuit. A key input unit(150) creates a control signal corresponding to a key input by a user. A control unit(120) controls each element of the circuit and converts a picture on a screen of a pattern generator into a picture of a BMP file format in response to a control signal applied from the key input unit and then stores the picture thereof in a flash memory(133). A graphic IC(Integrated Circuit)(130) moves the picture of the BMP file format stored in the flash memory to an SDRAM(Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory), and creates an RGB(Red, Green and Blue) color signal and a synchronizing signal. A video encoder(140) converts the RGB color signal and the synchronizing signal into a composite color signal.
