A funnel for a cathode ray tube and a cathode ray tube having the same are provided to improve explosion-proof characteristics and thermal characteristics by forming a straight section or a smooth curved section on an upper surface thereof. A funnel for a cathode ray tube includes a seal edge part(210), a body part(230), and a yoke part. The body part is extended from an outer surface of the seal edge part. The body part includes a straight section and a curved section. The straight section is extended from a bottom surface of the seal edge part to a tubular axis direction. The curved section is extended from the straight section. The yoke part is extended from the curved section of the body part.
