摘要 A method of manufacturing an LCD is provided to increase an opening region by a bonding margin by forming a light blocking member, which has been included in a color filter substrate, in an array substrate. A display region, which includes a switching region and a pixel region(P), and a non display region are defined in a substrate(100). A light blocking member is formed in the substrate and an align key is formed in a portion of the non display region. First and second semiconductor layers are formed in the driver circuit unit and a third semiconductor layer(110) is formed in the switching region. Portions of the second and third semiconductor layers are doped with n+ ions. A gate insulating layer(116) is formed on an entire surface of the substrate where the first to third semiconductor layers are formed. A gate electrode(122) is formed on the gate insulating layer such that it corresponds to a center of the first to third semiconductor layers. The first semiconductor layer where the gate electrode is not formed is doped with p+ ions. Portions of the second and third semiconductor layers where n+ ions are not doped are doped with n- ions. An interlayer insulating layer is formed on an entire surface of the substrate where the gate electrode is formed and patterned to expose a p+ doped region of the first semiconductor layer and n+ doped regions of the second and third semiconductor layers. Source electrodes(140a) and drain electrodes(140b) are formed so as to contact the exposed first to third semiconductor layers. A passivation layer(142) is formed on an entire surface of the substrate where the source and drain electrodes are formed and the drain electrode contacting the third semiconductor layer is exposed. A pixel electrode(148) is formed to contact the drain electrode.
