The present invention relates to seamless copper tubes with a casing of plastic mixture strongly attached to the copper tube by a special adhesive, so that a composite circular tube with features having the advantages of its components is obtained.The improvement of the properties results from the strong attachment of the plastic mixture casing (PE-HD-MD-LD-LLD, PE-X(a, b & c), PE-RT, PP-RC, polyolefin-based LSF, PET, EVA, PVC or PE) to the copper tube by the insertion of a special adhesive mixture between them. The composite product of the invention, has high strength against pressure exhibiting an excellent performance on long-term pressure trials, long lifetime, small expansion coefficient, is accepted for use for potable water according to the requirements of the "NSF standard 61", is quite flexible and in the same time rigid resisting external pressures-stresses and finally has reduced inner roughness, resulting in low pressure losses in water supply systems. The copper tube, as the major carrier of mechanical properties, provides, inter alia, "memory" during installation (easy and persistent bending without intense muscular activity), and furthermore, the tube acquires resistance against thermal cycles as well as thermal "shocks" in heating installations.The composite tube manufactured by this way is suitable for use in sanitary networks, heating networks and possibly cooling (air-conditioning) networks. In particular it is suitable for use in high-energy-yield, in-floor heating systems. |
