A method for obtaining contents is provided to enable a user to automatically obtain desired contents at a desired time by using code recognition technology and to supply a user a reservation service when recording or downloading the media, thereby improving user's convenience. A method for obtaining contents comprises the following steps of: decoding a code read through a code recognizer(S20,S21); recognizing the kind of a service which the code indicates and contents provided through the service, and a location on the network of the contents(S22); and receiving the contents, which the code indicates, from the location on the network, which the code indicates, through the service which the code indicates(S28). The code is an OCR(Optical Character Recognition) code.
