<p>A system and a method for allocating AMC(Adaptive Modulation and Coding) levels in a broadband wireless access communication system are provided to execute an efficient AMC process, to increase the whole system capacity, and to improve the data throughput and the quality of data by estimating the speed of each terminal in a system and allocating resources dynamically according to the speed of each terminal. A base station, if an instantaneous CQI(Channel Quality Information) value is inputted from a mobile station, obtains the difference value between the inputted instantaneous CQI value and the instantaneous CQI value received at the previous frame(501,503). The base station obtains the average CQI difference value using the obtained CQI difference value(505). Then the base station compares the average CQI difference value with the first threshold in order to estimate the speed of the mobile station(507). In case the average CQI difference value is larger than the first threshold(509), the base station selects a conservative link table for the mobile station as the speed of the mobile station is high(511).</p> |
