A fusing device with a fusing belt is provided to sufficiently expand a fusing nip by adjusting contact length of the fusing belt without enlarging external diameters of a pressing roller and a heating roller, and decrease fusing temperature while maintaining fusing quality by increasing time necessary for a record medium to pass through the fusing nip. A heating roller(760) rotates to heat a record medium(P). A fusing belt(800) circulates to form a fusing nip in a gap formed between the fusing belt and a periphery of the heating roller. A pressing roller(770) rotates to press an inner surface of the fusing belt and thereby forms the first nip(910). A belt pressing member(790) supports the inner surface of the fusing belt while slipping on the inner surface thereof and forms the second nip in an interval where the fusing belt is closely attached to the heating roller. The fusing nip is formed while the fusing belt is closely attached to the heating roller continuously from the first nip to the second nip. |
