A sound source mix service system for a mixed sound source-based ring back tone service and a method thereof are provided to present a differentiated service for ring back tones by allowing a subscriber to extract desired portions from ordinary sound sources, to mix the extracted portions, and to create a characteristic ring back tone. A sound source mix service system(200) for a mixed sound source-based ring back tone service is comprised of a sound source DB(201), a sound source list providing part(210), a sound source mixing part(230), and a sound source registration part(250). The sound source DB(201) stores a plurality of sound sources for mixing. The sound source list providing part(210) provides a list of sound sources, stored in the sound source DB(201), to a mobile terminal which accesses the sound source mix service system(200). The sound source mixing part(230), if the user of the mobile terminal selects more than two sound sources, forms a mixing list, and settles the order of the selected sound sources, mixes sound sources of the mixing list in the settled order and creates a mixed sound source. The sound source registration part(250) registers the mixed sound source in the DB server of a ring back tone service system together with information on the mobile terminal.
