The invention relates to a method of measuring the viscosity of a medium (4) for the culture of micro-organisms (5). The inventive method is characterised in that it comprises the following successive steps consisting in: a) submerging at least one particle which is electrically charged, magnetic or magnetisable or covered with at least one magnetic or magnetisable layer (3) in the culture (4); b) subjecting the culture (4) to an electric, magnetic or electromagnetic field such as to move the particle (3); and c) detecting the degree of freedom of the particle (3) in the culture. The invention is intended, in particular, for a method and device for detecting the formation and development of biofilms in a culture of micro-organisms. |
