A light supplying part and a backlight unit comprising the same are provided to reduce the thickness of the backlight unit, by condensing the light generated from a light source in a direction of an LCD panel using a metal layer included in the light supplying part. A light supplying part comprises a light guiding plate(334) having at least one single layer at a lower portion, and a metal layer(502) formed along the lower portion of the light guiding plate. The light, which is incident to the light guiding plate in a uniform direction, is condensed in a direction of an LCD panel by the metal layer. The light supplying part further comprises a light source unit(328) for generating light, and a light transmission unit(500). The light transmission unit transmits the light, which is generated from the light source unit, to make the light advance toward the light guiding plate. |
