摘要 An LCD and a method for driving the same are provided to vary optical compensation films by the pixel unit, correspondingly to liquid crystals of a liquid crystal layer, thereby favorably compensating the viewing angle of the LCD. A lower optical compensation film(310) changes the polarization of light incident from the outside. A lower substrate(308) is positioned on the lower optical compensation film. A liquid crystal layer(324) is positioned above the lower substrate, wherein the liquid crystal layer has liquid crystals arranged correspondingly to voltage applied from the outside. Color filters(316) and an upper substrate(312) are sequentially positioned above the liquid crystal layer. An upper optical compensation film(314) is positioned on the upper substrate, wherein the upper optical compensation film has phase difference varied according to the phase difference of liquid crystals arranged in the liquid crystal layer. A controller controls the arrangement of the upper and lower optical compensation films correspondingly to the liquid crystals arranged in the liquid crystal layer.
