An electric safety iron is provided to prohibit clothes from being burned by protruding a lifting supporter automatically and separating a heating plate from the clothes by a predetermined height. An electric safety iron comprises a heating plate(1) mounted on a lower unit of the iron to iron clothes; and a handle unit(2) formed at an upper unit. The heating plats is composed of lifting supporters(3,4) protruding at both sides of the heating plate at the lower unit of the iron, and connection shafts(5,6) mounted on the lifting supporters. The handle unit is composed of an upper handle unit(7); a lower handle piece(8); and coil springs(9,9a) installed between the upper handle unit and the lower handle piece. The lower handle piece moves up and down. The connection shaft of the lifting supporters is connected with the lower handle piece by a hinge piece(13), and a hinge pin(13a). Guide pieces are curved at both side units of the lower handle piece, and inserted to guide grooves(12,12a) formed by support brackets(11,11a). |
