An apparatus for stabilizing a chain of a thermotherapy device and a method of using the same are provided to prevent a loose state of the chain by constantly maintaining tension of the chain through a chain tension controller. The apparatus includes a chain tension controller(150) controlling tension of a chain generated in process of reciprocating a moxa cautery appliance, a stabilization controller(160) including a chain stabilization controller, a first hinge shaft(110) having each roller(112) formed on both end portions thereof and a chain engaging portion(114) installed on a center portion thereof, a height control frame(120) hinge-connected to the first hinge shaft, a second hinge shaft hinge-connected to the height control frame, and a moxa cautery appliance support(140) equipped with the moxa cautery appliance on a body thereof.
