Provided is an apparatus for transferring a large-size glass panel used in an LCD or PDP, which utilizes an air lifting device to substantially reduce the width of a worktable and to therefore, facilitate space usage of the transfer apparatus and reduce manufacturing cost of the apparatus. The apparatus for transferring a large-size glass panel comprises: an air lifting device(30) that is installed at an angle on a worktable(10) and discharges air to one side of a glass panel for air lift; and a transfer device(40) having a plurality of blocks that are disposed at regular intervals on a belt for supporting a bottom edge of the glass panel separated by a certain distance from the bottom of the air lifting device(30). The air lifting device(30) is constituted by an air chamber, an air discharge portion(34) with air vents(34a), and a fan for discharging air into the air chamber.
