The anti-roll system for a vehicle with a chassis, body and a carrier for each wheel, has two torsion bars (1d, 1g) with an actuator (7), and braces (3) connecting the torsion bars mechanically while maintaining a gap between them that allows each to rotate about its own axis. The system also incorporates a detector for transverse movements of the vehicle body, and a control unit for the signals from the detector and actuator, the latter being in the form of a hydraulic cylinder with a body (5) and a piston rod (6) connected to the torsion bars by a coupling bracket (61) and links (8d, 8g).
