<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp unit capable of restraining deterioration of light utilization ratio, even if the ambient temperature of an arc tube becomes high, due to downsizing and airtight configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The lamp unit 10 provided with a high-pressure discharge lamp 12, having an arc tube 16 with a discharge room 18 formed inside, a rotating ellipsoid mirror 14 as a reflecting mirror, having a concave reflecting face reflecting and condensing irradiation light from the discharge chamber 18. At the outer face of a light-emitting part 20 out of the arc tube 16 forming the discharge room 18, a plurality of convex parts 50 are formed, which constitute a prism that makes the irradiation light from the discharge room 18 reflected and send it back to the discharge chamber 18, and have it irradiated it toward the reflecting face. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
