PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording device by which the carriage move area of a guide shaft guiding and supporting a carriage can be kept in a clean condition having no attached matter. SOLUTION: The inkjet recording device has a recording head 3 mounted on a carriage 4 reciprocating along the guide shaft 6. The device is equipped with a rotating means also plays a role of a raising and lowering means for raising and lowering the carriage by rotating the guide shaft and a control means for moving the carriage to the end portion along the guide shaft every time when rotating the guide shaft around its axis by an predetermined angle.
