A virtual switching method which could be routed, includes: STEP 1,determining the processing priority level of switching and routing at a interface; STEP 2 , waiting for the arrival of the data message of the equipment's interface ; STEP 3,performing the switching process according to the processing priority level which determined at the interface ,the input virtual LAN identification and the input interface number of the message , or performing the identifying and processing according to the three ply route or protocol information in the message .Of which if the processing procedure of the message is failed , the message will not be discarded , but processed with the low priority.
