A method of controlling preheating of an electric oven is provided to lengthen an on-time of a broil heater having high thermal transfer efficiency during initial preheating. An electric oven includes a first heater and a second heater. The first heater is installed at the upper part of a cavity in exposed type. The second heater is installed at the lower part of the cavity in hidden type. A method of controlling preheating of the electric oven includes a first preheating step(S20) of alternately operating the first and second heaters in such a manner that the on-time of the first heater is longer than the on-time of the second heater, and a second preheating step(S40) of repeatedly operating only the second heater. The first and second preheating steps are sequentially performed to preheat the cavity to a predetermined temperature.
