<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method and system for reducing interferences across coverage cells, using base stations that are interconnected by a packet network. <P>SOLUTION: A wireless device monitors the channel signal strength of its serving cell and its neighboring cell (902). The serving cell collects measurements from the wireless devices within its cell (904, 906) and informs its neighboring cell, when there is a possibility of one of the wireless devices causing serious interference to the neighboring cell (910).
