<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic pen whose power saving is achieved without making a problem such as the missing of coordinate data or the shortage of precision when starting handwriting. <P>SOLUTION: This electronic pen is provided with a CPU for making it possible to change a status from a start status for a normal power to a standby status for power saving and a timer for making it possible to change the status of a control circuit from the standby status to the start status at a preliminarily set time.
