PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display apparatus of a vertical alignment system that achieves a wide viewing angle, a high aperture ratio and high definition. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display apparatus of a vertical alignment system carries out dot inversion driving as an inversion driving system to periodically invert polarities of voltages applied to the liquid crystal, which suppresses influences of the potential of an adjacent pixel and reduces a distance between pixel electrodes.
