PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric sensor having a metallic case that can be formed relatively compact. SOLUTION: The photoelectric sensor 1 comprises a case 51 in which mounting substrates 11 and 15, a lens 13 and so on are housed. The case 51 comprises a case body 52 made of a metal and having an opening 55 for projecting and receiving light, and a translucent plate 71 provided in the opening 55.
