PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording device that executes proper automatic recovery to each recording head. SOLUTION: The ink-jet recording device controls suction timing of each recording head while measuring it by storing final suction time into a nonvolatile memory mounted to the recording head, stores cover opening time into the nonvolatile memory of the recording head when replacing the recording head, and compares time for leaving the recording head as it is with a threshold by making a time difference in-between the cover opening time as the time for leaving the recording head as it is when mounting the recording head.
