PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input device which can be made thin and secure resolving power. SOLUTION: The image input device has a lens array comprising two or more lenses, an imaging element for picking up an image through the lens array, a light-shielding member for preventing crosstalk of a light beam between the lenses constituting the lens array, a first arithmetic unit for reconstituting a single image from a compound-eye image picked up by the imaging element, a subject distance detecting means for detecting the distance to a subject, and a second arithmetic unit which calculates a spherical aberration corresponding to the subject distance based upon the subject distance detected by the subject distance detecting means and removes quality deterioration of the reconstituted image due to the spherical aberration.
