PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the fixing accuracy of optical elements such as a mirror and a lens acting on a light beam and to secure the quality of an image formed by using a latent image on a photoreceptor drum. SOLUTION: The optical scanner is provided with a frame having a side wall 224 and an intermediate wall 225, and respective optical elements of a secondary optical system are disposed on the frame. These optical elements are disposed by being distributed on the both sides of the intermediate wall 225. Thus, the optical path of the optical beam from a primary optical system reflected on a polygon mirror 201 is set so as to cross the intermediate wall 225 from the lower side to the upper side of the intermediate wall 225. Accordingly, the intermediate wall 225 is provided with openings 226 in the region where the optical paths of these light beams exist not to intercept the optical paths. Further, the respective optical elements of the secondary optical system are fixed on the intermediate wall 225 directly or via a predetermined supporting member.
