A diaphragm especially for a small and thin speaker in which a plurality of ribs each having a V-shaped or U-shaped cross-section and at touching at least one end the outer circumferential edge of a center dome are arrange in axis-symmetrically or non-axis-symmetrically on the circular center dome having an annular diaphragm portion on the periphery so that split resonance occurring in the center dome is dispersed during vibration and sound pressure is lowered especially in high-range frequency characteristics. A speaker equipped with that diaphragm is also provided.
