MOTOR CONTROLLER AND STEERING UNIT FOR VEHICLE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and cost of a construction for motor current detection and reduce a power loss resulting from motor current detection.

SOLUTION: An electronic control unit 10 includes: a motor drive circuit 12 connected to an electric motor M; a microcomputer 11 that controls the circuit; and a motor current detection circuit 13 for monitoring a motor current. The motor drive circuit 12 includes six power MOSICs 21 to 26 each provided with a current detecting function in bridge connection. These MOSICs 21 to 26 include: a power MOSFET that is turned on/off according to a PWM signal from the microcomputer 11; and a shunt FET for shunting a current passed through the power MOSFET. The current passed through the shunt FET is detected by the motor current detection circuit 13.
