<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent porous compact of activated carbon having fine pores. <P>SOLUTION: A composition comprising: activated carbon; a calcium component; and a silica component, and in which the content of the active carbon is 10 to 50 wt.%, the content of the silica component is 20 to 60 wt.%, and the content of the calcium component is 20 to 60 wt.% is kneaded with water, and the kneaded matter is charged to a mold and is molded. The molded body is stored (previous curing) in a chamber or in a constant-temperature humidifier tank for several hours in a humidified state. When the molded body is solidified to a degree of being capable of releasing, it is released from a mold, and is subjected to hydrothermal synthesis (autoclave curing), e.g., at 180°C under 10 atmospheric pressure, thus the compact having sufficient strength can be obtained without damaging the characteristics of activated carbon. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
