PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more improve the throughput than that of prior arts in a multi-rate wireless adhoc system. SOLUTION: The control apparatus for the wireless network including a plurality of wireless stations each including an antenna capable of forming a sector pattern and a beam pattern of non directivity which wireless stations make wireless communication with each other, detects wireless signals from the other wireless stations, uses the sector pattern to rotate the beam direction of the antenna over all azimuth angles to search an azimuth angle with a maximum signal strength and thereafter uses the sector pattern with respect to the azimuth of the wireless station to receive the wireless signal when the detected wireless signal is the wireless station making wireless communication. Further, the control apparatus controls the operation such that the station transmits an RTS signal from a sender using the non-directional antenna, receives a CTS signal from a reception source by the sector pattern, uses the non-directional antenna to transmit a DATA signal in response to the reception of a communication reception signal and uses the sector pattern to receive an ACK signal from the reception source.
