PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line sensor capable of reading more optically-generated electric charges generated in a photodiode forming region. SOLUTION: The line sensor 4 includes a plurality of light-receiving elements 21 linearly arranged apart at prescribed intervals. Each light-receiving element 21 includes the photodiode forming region PD, where the optically-generated electric charges corresponding to incident light are generated, and a detection transistor for detecting the electric charge amount of the optically-generated electric charges and arranged at the almost center in the photodiode forming region PD.
