PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of easily manufacturing a cross dichroic prism, and to provide a cross dichroic prism, an optical device, and a projector. SOLUTION: A releasing agent layer 110 for preventing adhesion of an adhesive is disposed on an optically flat reference surface 101, two dichroic prisms 341 are placed on the releasing agent layer 110, the adhesive is injected between a wavelength-selective reflective film 343 and an adhesive surface 342C and, thereby, a pair of first and second prisms 345A, 345B are formed. Since the releasing agent layer 110 prevents adhesion of the adhesive, a pair of the first and second prisms 345A, 345B are not adhered to the reference surface 101 and can be easily removed from a manufacturing fixture. Therefore, the polishing process of a joint forming surface 342D of a pair of the first and second prisms 345A, 345B can be also facilitated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
