PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a box type letter sign in which manufacturing time and cost are reduced by reducing the number of members and a display area is maximized, and which can be viewed in the same size even as an internal illumination type. SOLUTION: The box type letter sign 1 is composed of a display section 2 formed of resin, a side plate section 3 for covering the peripheral edge 2a of the display section 2, and a bottom plate section 4 for closing the rear face 2b side of the display section 2, in a cross-sectional box type. The side plate section 3 comprises: an external decoration plate 6 whose both side edge sections 6a and 6b are folded; and an internal decoration plate 7 held by the side edge sections 6a and 6b in which the external decoration plate 6 is folded. The display section 2 is attached to the side plate section 3, since a surface 2c is brought into contact with the edge end 6c of the side edge section 6a in which the external decoration plate 6 is folded and a peripheral end 2a is brought into contact with and connected to the internal decoration plate 7.
