PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injector capable of improving atomization of a spray by forming various spray shapes and injection directions while restraining sticking of fuel to an injection port. SOLUTION: A structure has a valve seat 3b having the injection port 4 and a valve element 2 for opening and closing the valve seat 3b, and injects the fuel into an internal combustion engine by opening a valve when the valve element 2 moves to the downstream side. Atomization of a fuel spray is promoted by generating turbulence of a fuel flow by arranging an annular groove 10 in the valve element 2 on the upstream side of a seat part 3c for allowing the valve element 2 to abut on the valve seat 3b.
