PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe capable of enlarging and varying the directivity of the ultrasonic probe and obtaining a diagnostic image with high resolution, and to provide ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus. SOLUTION: The subject side surface of a medium 2 is formed in a curved surface shape in a direction Y orthogonal to the array direction X of piezo-electric elements 1 arranged in a fixed direction. The directivity is arbitrarily set by changing the curved surface shape. A curvature radius is reduced at the center part in order to enlarge the directivity and is increased towards both end parts.
