Provided are mailing ink, a mailing ink tank, a mailing ink jet recording method and a mailing ink jet recording device, which make compatible a preferable color cast and visibility as a blue indicia and a readability at a 2D bar code reader. The mailing ink to be used for an ink jet record, the mailing ink tank, the mailing ink jet recording method and the mailing ink jet recording device are characterized in that a CIE L*a*b* color specification system of a printing unit, which is obtained by applying the ink in an application quantity of 4.5 mg per square inches to a recording medium, has a* of -10 or more and 15 or less and b* of -50 or more and -15 or less, and in that the reflection spectrum of the printing unit in the wavelength range of 380 nm or more and 730 nm or less has an integrated value of 90 or less.
